ScottMadden Speaks in TransmissionHub Webinar

ScottMadden, Inc. recently joined forces with Energy Central’s TransmissionHub to provide an interactive webinar.

PRLog - Nov. 12, 2012 - ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading energy consulting firms, recently joined forces with Energy Central’s TransmissionHub to provide an interactive webinar, “Transmission in the East Outlook.” This session offered top experts discussing the current and future growth of the Eastern Interconnection.

Cristin Lyons (http://www.scottmadden.com/bios/25/Cristin-Lyons.html), partner and transmission, distribution, and Smart Grid practice leader at ScottMadden, Kenneth Collison of ICF International, and Ron Snead of ATC provided a one-hour session to discuss the current issues in the Eastern Interconnection and factors that will drive changes to the grid in the near term. Ms. Lyons said, “Taken together, the sluggish economy, slower and less predictable load growth, Smart Grid enablement of complex resources, and RPS driven renewable are a volatile mix. When you factor in electric-gas convergence, traditional planning methods for transmission can face significant challenges.”

Feedback from the webcast was very positive as many attendees complimented the informative session. “Ms. Lyons' presentation was a highlight of our webcasts. The audience gave her very high marks for her expertise and for the amount of information she was able to squeeze into just 15 minutes. Many commented that they wished she could have gone longer,” noted Randy Rischard, vice president of data and analysis at Energy Central.
