The National Retail Foundation is predicting that 2012 holiday spending will rise and return to 2007 levels with $28.13 earmarked for pets by the average holiday shopper.
Women in the Pet Industry Network President Shawna Schuh said, “Pet owners reportedly spend more on pets than on video games, movies or recorded music. The Holiday Biz Book is all about the women owned businesses that support this booming market and the services, products and facilities they operate.
Sixty seven women are included in the book with 26 profiled and talking about their business, their career and their pets: Some even share funny and poignant Christmas pet tales.
Schuh commented, “This holiday season catalog invites you to curl up with your laptop and a cup of cocoa and get acquainted with the top women in the pet professions. Filled with interesting profiles and fun pet photos, this digital book is a delight to browse and learn from. These are the stories of women who are making it happen.”
