Nov. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- THE BEST CANCER CURE BY DR ZYRIEDA DENNING

The best medical cure for any condition is PREVENTION, and prevention should start in toddlers and young children.
Despite decades of research and progress, we still cannot cure many cancers and so now many resources are being ploughed into prevention rather than cure with many large international studies on the food we eat.
We all know that the best lung cancer cure is not smoking and hence preventing the cancer.
However we can't tell our young children " to eat their 5 a day or they could get heart disease or cancer in 50 years" as that means nothing to them. Instead we need to appeal to them with characters such as princes, princesses, or superheroes to demonstrate in a light hearted way what could "happen" when they grow up if they don't.

Japan has HALVED their (high) incidence of stomach cancer through mass education of the public of the dangers of too much salt in their diet and screening.
5-a-day (or more) has shown to decrease the incidence of many cancers including stomach, bowel, pancreas and oesophagus.
maintaining correct healthy weight with exercise has been shown to decrease many cancers including  breast cancer in post-menopausal women, not to mention reducing heart disease, strokes and type 2 diabetes.
However as shown in Japan it takes many years for the benefits to show through but we need to educate the youngsters in a very subtle way to ensure a lifelong change in lifestyle.
Zyrieda Denning's book shows a Prince who loves his gardens and cooking meeting like minded Alicia. The Prince then has to meet all these various princesses who do not do the right thing and his imagination depicts each of them as Queens in a comical fashion (with genuine medical conditions).
This is a wonderful book as it subtly persuades young children that 5 a day is good without preaching to them and they enjoy the story.
There are then 26 fun recipes to encourage the subtle addition of fruit or veg into their mixed and varied diet.
Finally there is an excellent section written by Max Denning, nutritionist and medical student, on health notes for adults.
