An Active Duty Marine originally from a small town just outside Dallas, TX currently stationed in Tampa, FL (MacDill AFB) with several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Featured in the Pulitzer Prize winning author Jim Sheelers book "Final Salute", Damon has buried so many of our fallen, been there for several "knocks" on the door and have been side by side with our fighting force wherever & whenever his country asks him to go. Nominated for the 2011 Bob Hope Spirit of Hope award for his volunteer work with the Remembering the Brave foundation, Damon is an intoxicating inspiration to all around him. He is frequently called upon to be a guest speaker at events all over the country such as American Legions and benefit concerts/events for fallen families from Sacremento, CA, to Colorado, Virginia and Tampa, FL.
In September 2011, he finally realized that his brothers and sisters gave up their hopes, dreams and their lives so others could achieve their dream. That night he decided to make his dream a reality, which was to write music people can relate to and enjoy. Thus began a year long journey of working on the Album "The Science". Damon has since become a top 10 artist on GiJams.com and achieved over 6,000 YouTube views and climbing(damon4421)
Each song he creates tells a vivid story in a way you can visualize. Filled with emotion, his stories can make you laugh, cry, teach you a thing or two about life and history; or just make you feel good. His music speaks volumes and is like nothing you hear on the radio today in the hip-hop genre. When asked why he makes music he always responds with "I have no choice, I have to try to bring my dream to life in the spirit of those who gave up theirs. If I succeed or fail, I'll at least will never have the regret that I didn't try".
On top of all of this, he still wakes up every day and puts the uniform on with pride to serve his country. An inspiration to us all!
"At the Remembering the Brave Foundations Legacies of Valor event on Oct 27, 2012 in Orlando, FL, Damon presented the son of a fallen service member a plaque with an inscription from his father; his fathers final words to his son which are etched into the wood;all while his widowed mother looked on awe and in tears.
Damon is a true role model for the youth of America, his music is "kid friendly" as he does not curse in his lyrics which sets him a part from most of today's hip-hop artists. Listeners from age 9 to age 99 can feel comfortable in listening to Damon's story telling. Rest assured this is an artist you will be hearing a lot more from in months to come, he is ready to take his place on the Global stage!
Damon will be speaking in St. Petersburg, at the American Legion on Veterans Day.
