Editor's Note:

The Collier County SWIM Central Program is funded by generous contributions from 21st Century Oncology. “The spirit of philanthropy demonstrated by 21st Century Oncology has helped over 550 disadvantaged children from Collier County daycares and preschools learn water safety,” said Dr. Todd Vedder, Chair, Safe & Health Children's Coalition of Collier County. “Water safety lessons have been proven to decrease the risk of a child being a victim of a non- fatal or fatal drowning. Swim Central provides access to these lessons for children who might otherwise never have such an opportunity. The more children who learn this lifesaving skill, the more likely we can reduce the number of drowning incidents in Collier County.”
