Nov. 9, 2012 - The St. Louis Chapter of IAAP is sponsoring a benefit drive for Great Circle. In 2009, Boys & Girls Town of Missouri and Edgewood, two of Missouri’s leading social services agencies for children merged into one organization entitled, Great Circle. Great Circle provides a full spectrum of treatment programs from foster care, case management, residential care, community outreach and specialized education services for vulnerable children with histories of abuse, neglect, emotional, behavioral disorders and psychological problems. By reinforcing positive behaviors, they help children improve their self-esteem and develop positive relationships with their peers and families. Great Circle serves children from 104 of the 114 Missouri counties and the City of St. Louis plus four counties in Illinois.
Over the years, St. Louis Chapter IAAP has been involved in several community projects. This year’s drive is being spearheaded by one their board members, Lynette Sona. The Wish List is very extensive and includes items from car seats for baby and toddlers to gift certificates and sports equipment for pre-teens and teenagers. Unwrapped items, monetary gifts or gift certificates are also acceptable and are being collected at the St. Louis Chapter Annual Holiday Party on December 6, 2012 between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
