“Local papers have a habit of concentrating on the negative side of life in our towns,” explains magazine Editor Will Harris. “We want to talk about the great things that happen in Wrexham. People don’t always want to read about the bad stuff, so we’ll be giving them the happy stuff instead.”
Border Publishing started in 2003, and is responsible for many successful magazines, such as Country & Border Life, Welsh Coast and Oswestry Live. Wrexham Live is expected to continue the company’s success.
Thebestofwrexham was approached to help launch the new magazine because it believes in showing Wrexham – and particularly its businesses – in the best light. Its owners will contribute to the editorial and highlight some of its members in the quarterly publication, and talk about some of the great events happening in the town. The magazine will also be branded as "in association with thebestofwrexham"
Speaking from his Rossett Office, Nick Pagan, Director of thebestofwrexham, says: “We’re really excited about Wrexham Live. When Border Publishing asked us if we’d like to get involved, of course we said yes because they embody the same values about the local area as we do. And the magazines they’ve produced already are of such superb quality that we had no hesitation in putting our name to it.”
The magazine is expected to be available from the 10th November, with the initial launch taking place at The Racecourse football ground, when Wrexham take on Hereford United in an eagerly awaited Blue Square Bet Premier league clash. Issues will also be available at various points around the town.
