212 Inc. Raises Money For Charity At Brown University

Operation Smile was founded in 1982 by Dr. William P. Magee Jr., a leading plastic and craniofacial surgeon, and his wife, Kathleen S. Magee, now Executive Chairman of the organization.

Operation Smile is a worldwide children’s medical charity with presence in over 60 countries.  The non-profit organization is made up of a network of global volunteers who are dedicated to conducting surgery on children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.  Since inception, Operation Smile has provided more than 2 million patient evaluations and conducted over 200,000 free surgeries.

Members of 212 joined together at the stadium at Brown University to play a friendly charity flag football game.  Participants donated an entry fee of $10 to play.  All profits went directly to Operation Smile.  This year 212 has participated in several charity events that have helped raise more than $4000 for Operation Smile.

Earlier this year, members of 212 participated in a charity dodgeball tournament.  In October, 212 hosted a charity Halloween party for Operation Smile.   212 has also participated in charity events with the Salvation Army by Adopting a Family and plans to continue its philanthropic efforts in the coming months.
