About the Author: Lay-Ping Powell, née Teh, was born in Malaysia of Chinese heritage. She qualified as a medical doctor in Singapore and subsequently migrated to Australia where she continued to practice medicine under the auspices of the Australian Government.
With her wide interests in education, poetry, and language, she has now turned her talent to writing, a product of her perceptive observation and sensitive reflection. Her appreciation of classical Japanese poetry led to the publication of a 2012/13 calendar with haiku inspired by images from the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, U.S.A. This is the first book published in collaboration with her siblings and friends.
