PRLog (Press Release) -
Nov. 8, 2012 - During the event, AART Event Planning collected over 200 bags of clothing which included coats for Men, Women and Children as well as baby items from diapers to formula and strollers, to non perishable food and water. These items filled a 26ft box truck which was brought to the Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center in Midland Park, NJ. It was then confirmed on Monday, November 5th from their representative at Bergen County Department of Human Services that everything collected was picked up and being distributed throughout the area to those who suffered from Hurricane Sandy.
“We had family and friends that were affected by the storm and we just wanted to do something to help. We never expected the overwhelming response that we received and it was so heartwarming,”
said Aelicia. “We had over 30 people that came to volunteer, some staying well past their shifts and even coming back the following day,” Rachael says. “Even those that came to drop off donations stayed to help. It was a wonderful feeling to see all of our communities come together.” One of those volunteers was Marisol Cedeno of Marisol’s Photography who also graciously photographed the drive.
Aelicia and Rachael also went to St. Margaret Church in Little Ferry on Sunday with a 17ft box truck filled with more donations as well as personally delivering items to families in need in the area.
