The Dror for the Wounded Foundation is an organization that provides financial assistance and emotional support to severely wounded veterans of the Israel Defense Forces. The organization was founded by IDF veteran Dror Dagan, after he was severely wounded on a mission to arrest a terrorist, leaving Dror paralyzed from the waist down. When he was recovering, Dror made a vow to do something for other wounded soldiers to minimize the difficulties they face during injury and recovery. He founded Dror for the Wounded for this purpose, together with New York businessman Eli K. Benson.
The annual Dror for the Wounded gala in New York City draws a large crowd of young professionals, as well as more mature professionals and businessmen and women. The formal evening will feature live music by Spicerack, an open bar, gourmet Middle Eastern cuisine, Israeli wine tasting and a silent auction. Kosher dietary laws will be observed. Guest vocalist Rony Corcos will perform and IDF veteran Yossi Ben David will share his story. Consul for Public Diplomacy Mr. Gil Lainer will also address the crowd.
Sponsors of the gala include Century 21 Associates Foundation, Shula Ltd., New York Philharmonic, Wolf & Lamb, and others. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Funds raised from this important evening will go towards various projects to help the wounded in their rehabilitation and recovery process. The night is sure to be one of inspiration, entertainment and support.

“One day I received a very encouraging phone call from you, from the Dror for the Wounded Foundation. Five years after my difficult injury I had discovered that there are those who want to help people like me and I thank you for your willingness.”
About Dror for the Wounded:
Every year many brave soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) become wounded while putting their lives on the line to protect the Land of Israel. Many of these wounds are life-threatening and profoundly life-altering. Established in December 2005, the Dror for the Wounded Foundation provides financial assistance and emotional support to severely wounded IDF veterans in the greatest need. This assistance serves as aid above and beyond that provided by the Ministry of Defense. Dror for the Wounded provides assistance in the areas of advocacy, evaluation, medical and psychological treatments, education and training and general financial aid.
