San Diego-based D. Davis secured an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Black Belt Super-Heavyweight world champion title after scoring his biggest victory so far on Sunday at the 2012 World Jiu-Jitsu No Gi Championship in Long Beach, California.
Professor Davis the 10-time American Nationals champion, added a world title to his already impressive professional record after the most successful year of competition in his career. In the 2012 season, Davis dominated a number of major IBJJF events. He was the Absolute champion at the Pheonix Open, the Super-Heavyweight and Absolute champion at the Las Vegas Open, the Super-Heavyweight and Absolute champion at the American Nationals Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and the Super-Heavyweight and Absolute champion at the American Nationals No-Gi Championship.
After the bout an ecstatic Davis praised his opponent for putting up a good fight, and promised that this win was only the first of many triumphs to come for Team Primal.
