-- Brianna Sylver, president of Chicago-based design research firm, Sylver Consulting, announced today the addition of Design Researcher, Matthew Yapchain, to the team. “We’
ve had the pleasure to work with Matthew as a freelance researcher on a variety of projects and are thrilled to welcome him as a full-time member of our staff,” shares Sylver.
Matthew is a researcher located at the convergence of design and qualitative research, making him a perfect addition to the Sylver team. He began his career in the field of film/animation/
video at the Rhode Island School of Design, and developed a formal research practice during his time at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has since worked across the design, social science, and technology industries in various combinations, studying subjects as varied as kids and technology, to the role of mobile technologies in emerging economies, to snack food consumption. Matthew’s curiosity is in peoples’ everyday encounters with design. When asked about joining the Sylver team, Matthew had this to say, ”I am excited to be joining Sylver's research team and proud to be part of company that has been producing forward-thinking work for almost ten years!”
Sylver Consulting, an international innovation research and strategy firm located in Chicago and Brazil, has helped companies and organizations such as NASA, Marriott and Frito-Lay define new growth opportunities. Matthew’s talent will further support Sylver in helping its clients uncover "sweet spots" for innovation by discovering both the explicit and latent needs of current and potential customers.
