In addition to their many recent successes, it would be remiss not to mention an award that they received in 2008 for their participation in the West Fork of Linville River Project. Pilot View Resource Conservation and Development, Inc. presented the award. For reference, Pilot View RC&D has been effectively working to preserve natural and human resources, while also preventing future environmental loss, with an eye for economic growth. For more information on Pilot View RC&D, visit their website at http://www.pilotviewrcd.org.
It was at the PV RC&D’s 8th annual luncheon, and the awards that are presented at said luncheons are required to meet a certain set of criteria. The receiving community and community members must have participated greatly and contributed significantly to a project that benefits their community. E.C. Griffith and James R. Griffith, Jr. were active participants in the West Fork of Linville River Project.
The plan for the project was initially strategized and implemented because of damage to tributaries in Western North Carolina. This damage was due to rain as a result of hurricanes in the preceding years. Additionally, habitat and wildlife suffered greatly. The project, sponsored by Pilot View RC&D, was a great success, returning the streambed to its natural state, cutting down on erosion in the stream bank, bringing vegetation back to life, and diminishing the effect of pollutants.
This award is only one demonstration of why E.C. Griffith is Charlotte’s most trusted commercial real estate firm. For more information visit their website at http://www.ecgriffith.com/
