Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- On November 8th, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. AVANCE (ah-vahn-ceh) President and CEO, Richard J. Noriega, will honor armed services veterans during a tribute speech at Glenda Dawson High School in Pearland, TX.

The tribute will feature choral and orchestral renditions of the national anthem and other ceremonial compositions along with tributes performed by The Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC).

Since 1980, Noriega has served in the National Guard and Army Reserves.  During his military service he was stationed in Afghanistan, where he commanded the Kabul Military Training Center for Afghan forces during Operation Enduring Freedom.

“It is an honor to be asked to participate and to celebrate Veterans Day at Dawson High School. Such an invite is of significant importance to me because I had the privilege of serving with the Honorable Glenda Dawson in the Texas House of Representatives,” Noriega said.

At the ceremony the student council will be accepting donations for “Helping a Hero,” an organization providing support for military personnel, severely injured in combat.

Please contact Carla Breaux at breauxc@pearlandisd.org if you would like tickets to this special tribute. The event is open to the public and tickets are free with limited seating.  Glenda Dawson High School is located at 2050 Cullen Blvd., Pearland, TX 7758.
