Follow on Google News | Brian Blondin Selected as ASHM of the year 2012The Institute for Safety and Health Management presents the annual Associate Safety and Health Manager of the Year Award.
By: ISHM Last month, the award was presented in conjunction with the Westex Venue at the National Safety Council (NSC) Congress and Expo held in Orlando, Florida. This year’s award went to Brian Blondin from Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corporation. Mr. Blondin has been with the company for the past 12 years where he has held positions of increasing responsibility in health and safety. He has served most recently as the EH&S Manager, Engineering for the past 5 years where he is responsible for all aspects of EH&S program implementation. Prior to his current role, Mr. Brodin worked with Pratt & Whitney’s Global EH&S organization as a Senior EH&S Generalist. There he provided health and safety technical support and management system implementation across a global workforce. He was also recently awarded 1st place in Pratt & Whitney’s 2012 Ergonomics Innovation Awards for his leadership in managing the 2011 Engineering Ergonomics Project. Mr. Blondin was also a featured presenter at the 2011 National Ergonomics Conference and Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada. “It was an honor to present the ASHM Award of the Year to Mr. Blondin on behalf of the ISHM and in conjunction with our partnership with Westex,” stated Larry Curtis, CSHM, Executive Director of the ISHM. “Mr. Blondin was presented with a commemorative plaque, Kindle Fire fo help organize his busy life and had his travel expenses to the award ceremony subsidized.
