Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Telecom operators has once again introduced a massive change in the SMSs aspect, and this time the change revolves around the pricing aspect.

With an intention to avoid mishandling of tariff plans by unregistered telemarketers for sending promotional messages, Telecom operators has substantially increased the Bulk SMS rates. On one hand where this change will enormously affect the providers as well as users of these services, it will also result in controlling the number of promotional messages sent.

The price changes for the existing and prospective clients would come into effect from 6th November, 2012.

No SMS provider holds any hand in change in the prices and Telecom operator alone is to be held responsible for the same.

Official person at TRAI has said "We have arrived at the figure of 100 SMSs after a lot of consultation process, Our analysis shows that on an average, a person sends two SMSs a day and 47 in a month. The limit we have prescribed is much beyond this."

Moreover to avoid misuse of unregistered telecom marketers, TRAI has imposed SMS capping of 100 sms for normal mobile users, after which they will need to pay minimum of 50p per sms.
