Sustainable Textiles Conference 2012
The Textile Exchange Sustainable Textiles Conference is an annual event for a global gathering of key players and industry leaders that focuses on innovation, investment, ecological impact and integrity. This year the event moved to Hong Kong and gathered over 300 delegates from global brands, retailers and suppliers, and fiber producers to fashion designers, to discuss sustainability challenges and solutions. Dr. Karen Kyllo, Deputy Vice President of SGS Global Softlines, participated as a guest speaker in the integrity session. She not only provided the latest developments in the evolving world of standards, but also addressed the benefits and challenges of enterprise implementation and for setting up a company’s own strategy for integrity. With a thorough explanation about the varying roles, ranging from brands, suppliers to certification bodies, the attending delegates of the global textile industry were able to acquire a comprehensive appreciation of the latest opportunities and challenges in the global industry and learn how to monitor their company’s own integrity and performance more efficiently.
