Enjoy Fourteen Miles of Festive Fun on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway's Magical Santa Express

Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Fourteen miles of fabulous, festive fun are available to passengers boarding the Lake District’s Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, which offers the longest and most atmospheric Santa experience to be taken by rail within Cumbria.

The fabulous Santa Express travels on a delightful narrow gauge track between Ravenglass on the Cumbrian coast, across an estuary, through hidden Miterdale, past imposing Muncaster Fell and on through stunning Eskdale, to deliver passengers to Dalegarth Station, nestling in the shadow of England’s highest mountains.

The dramatic mountain scenery and maybe even some snow on the hills, all adds to the excitement, while allocated seating and comfortable carriages make it a pleasure for all the family.

Children are urged to look out for Santa in his sleigh within the magic wood, can have fun with a free line quiz and are guaranteed meetings with the jovial gent, both in his gorgeous grotto and on the train on either their outbound or return enchanting journey, when Santa will visit each carriage.

Children are treated to juice and biscuits, while adults can enjoy mulled wine and mince pies.  The Happy Elf is around to give parents a half-price return journey gift voucher for use by adults in 2013 and all children receive a high quality, wrapped gift. Gifts to suit all age groups are selected by the Railway, ensuring children of all ages receive something suitable.

Additionally, there is an option to combine the experience with a pre-booked, two-course traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, served in the Railway’s cafés, which are renowned for their delicious homemade dishes based on tasty local Cumbrian produce.

This top quality, magical Santa experience costs £18 for adults and children aged 1-11 and £9.50 for children aged 12-15.
