Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- We refer to our packages departing Maputo as our Kruger Quickies! (Tongue-in-cheek of course.)

It's just that more often than not, our clients in Maputo are in the country on business, and thus are operating on a tight schedule. Our one night Kruger package doesn't allow for a great deal of beauty-sleep, but certainly entertains with an abundance of natural beauty - a whirl-wind taste of Africa's wildlife and wilderness.

Whirl-wind it may be, we have still had some very happy customers, many of whom have vowed to return...

Mr Frederiksen (Denmark) – visited Kruger August 2012
"Just wanted to say a GREAT thank you for this extremely nice planning!!! It was a HUGE success! When we got to the Croc Gate at Kruger, we were met by 5 BIG elephants just at the bridge, then we went for the night game drive… AWESOME!!! Rhinos, elephants and much more. SO great experience. At dinner at the BOMA after our game drive that night, we sat listening to the hippos and lions!!! The early game drive was MIND blowing! We saw all the big 5, many many other species (animals and plants). This safari was my very first and I am determined that I want to bring my wife! This was excellent! The trip back went SUPER smooth with help from a brilliant driver! Again thanx for making this possible!"

IF YOUR TIME IS LIMITED, DEPARTING MAPUTO, YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS

o    A full day tour to the Kruger Park, departing Maputo early morning and arriving back in Maputo late afternoon/evening

o    Alternatively you can spend a night in the Kruger area, visiting the park during peak game viewing times.

ONE NIGHT IN KRUGER - A BRIEF TYPICAL ITINERARY

http://www.africaholidaysandsafaris.com/tours/tour/holida...

o    Depart Maputo at 09h30 for arrival at your safari lodge at approximately 11h30.
Earlier departures can be arranged but are not guaranteed.
We have had clients depart as late as 13h30 with drop off direct at the Kruger Gate entrance to hop straight onto their evening game drive (logistics of their luggage and check-in are arranged separately). Late departures are tricky in that any delays at border control, or congestion anywhere on the roads, could mean that clients miss their evening game drive, so this is not ideal.

o    Depart between 16h00 and 16h30 on your afternoon/evening open vehicle safari, returning at around 20h00 to 21h00 depending on game sightings.

o    Transfer to your lodge for overnight.

o    Overnight at your safari lodge with a candle-lit boma dinner and gourmet dining.

o    An early morning departure from your safari lodge at 05h30 for your open vehicle game drive within the Kruger Park.
To maximize your time in Kruger, your will not return to the lodge again, and your return transfer to Maputo, will be waiting at the Kruger Gate (Crocodile Bridge Gate).
Your return transfer can be booked as late as 16h00, so that you have an entire day in the Kruger Park. This depends entirely on your work schedule in Maputo.
You will enjoy breakfast as well as lunch within the Kruger Park. Your safari ranger will most often cook you breakfast within the park, and a light lunch will be packed for you to enjoy at some point during your day.

o    Drop off will be at either your hotel in Maputo or Maputo Airport for your onward travel arrangements.

PERTINENT POINTS

o    The Kruger Park is approximately A 2 to 2 and a half hour scenic road transfer from Maputo.

o    The biggest cost factor within our Kruger one night stop over, is the road transfer, taking into consideration distance, as well as the 'empty-leg' portion of the transfer. Whether the transfer supplier is based in South Africa or Mozambique, the client will be dropped off and then the transfer driver will return to his point of origin which is the empty-leg sector of the transfer cost.

o    By staying overnight one gets to experience the Kruger Park by night and by day, with the chance of seeing both nocturnal and diurnal wildlife.

o    By staying overnight, one gets to game drive during peak game viewing times - early morning and late afternoon/evening, when temperatures are coolest and the predators especially, are on the hunt for food.

o    By staying overnight, one also gets to enjoy fireside boma dining which is a memorable experience in itself. With the wilderness pressing close and the sounds and smell of the bush surrounding you (lion roaring in the distance, the screech of bush babies and the crunch of movement close by), not to mention that the lodges are particularly skilled in the culinary department, boma dining is a highlight.

o    Your early morning game drive can be extended to a full day game drive at no additional cost!

FULL DAY TOUR TO THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

http://africaholidaysandsafaris.com/tours/daytour/day-tou...

Should you only literally have a day at your disposal, a full day tour from Maputo to Kruger is still an exciting experience. Yes, you will arrive in Kruger a little later in the morning (with your departure from Maputo at dawn), however the opportunity to view wildlife (including Africa's Big Five) is always just a heart-beat away.

Kruger is a vast game reserve and although the wildlife do operate according to a natural rhythm of sorts, they don't set their clocks to specific timings like we do, so you will be surprised and enchanted by many game sightings. Also Kruger is not only about the Big Five, there are innumerable species that inhabit this wonderful reserve. Just the plant life is incredible, birdlife is awesome with over 450 species recorded, there are crocodile and hippo in the waterholes, jackals, wild dog, caracal, innumerable antelope species and really just a grand parade of nature.

Whether you are departing from Maputo, or anywhere else in South Africa, please get in touch and we will assist / quote you on travel in South Africa / Africa.
