On November 10 and 11, Dalegarth Station will be transformed into an Aladdin’s cave of handmade gifts created by charities, artisans and local craftspeople. Shoppers can enter the fair for free and car parking at both Ravenglass and Dalegarth stations will be just £1 all day, with proceeds going to Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
The Fair is ideal for anyone wishing to spread the cost of Christmas over November and December, while also providing unique gift items that cannot be bought on the high street.
Additionally, the Ravenglass and Eskdale cafes will have home-baked, gift-wrapped edible goodies for purchase and pre-orders for Ratty Christmas Cakes will also be taken. The Railway’s own gift shops, which offer unusual and delightful items will also be selling great present choices.
Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway’s Marketing Manager, Rachel Bell, says: “Shoppers should get a head of steam up and descend on the railway this weekend, as the gifts on offer will be special, inspiring and unlike anything else many people will receive in their Santa’s sack.
“We hope to not only provide a great shopping experience, but also raise a tidy sum for charity, so would ask people to pop in, take a look and then maybe review their purchases over a warm drink, tasty bake or appetising meal”.
