PRLog - Nov. 7, 2012 - SACRAMENTO, CA - Ask nearly any artist or performer how they learned the skills that have become their livelihood the answer will often be "I was born to paint or I was born to be a professional athlete, journalist,"
Singer Songwriter Cynthia Renee
Now, Cynthia Renee is sharing that talent with more than friends and relatives and in a platform above and beyond that of regional cover bands. She is sharing it worldwide with the recent release of her original song "Where Are You Now," which is quickly attracting fans from all areas of the world.
"Where Are You Now" is the first original release for Renee. The well composed piece crosses a variety of genres and is truly a song of inspiration and hope. This release that is now available on Apple iTunes, Amazon.com and Internet Radio along with a compilation video on YouTube and her official website. For Renee, this project is just the beginning of her first solo album, and at the same time the beginning of a dream come true for someone that was singing since she was old enough to walk.
"My parents tell me when I was really little I use to sing the jingles from the different commercials word for word. I don't remember that but I know when I first realized I had a gift with my voice was back in the sixth grade," said Renee. "I performed the well known Journey song Open Arms and received a standing ovation. It was that moment I learned I had something that I could share with others."
For Renee, it wasn't long after standing on that grammar school stage that she began performing in area convalescent homes and most notably, a small country church in Grizzly Flats, California that was built by her Grandfather. Grizzly Flats is a rural community in El Dorado County southeast of the well known logging town of Camino and maintains a population today of just over 1000 residents.
"After the talent show I had visited my Great Grandmother in a convalescent home and I sang for her. I noticed how much she and the others enjoyed my songs," said Renee. "So I expressed to my parents my interest in singing at other hospitals in the area and they gave me their full support just as they continue to today."
For Renee, performing isn't about the possibility of walking out on a strobe lit stage with smoke and effects before thousands of screaming fans. While that type of following is something any performer can hope for one day financially, for Renee sharing her God given gift and bringing joy to others is her true passion and comes before the desire for fame and fortune.
Renee's interest in sharing her music with the elderly continued long into her adulthood. She spent several years serving in convalescent hospital ministries as well as performing Sunday services for the residents of Grizzly Flats and other communities.
While her college education and eventual law degree took her in a different direction several years ago, Renee is confident that music is her true calling. She has stepped away from weekly performance with area bands to focus on her solo singing and songwriting career,
"She has an amazing voice," said producer Bill Bentley, who has seen many musicians in his lifelong career of music. "She makes my job easy."
It is a common saying that God has a plan for all of us. For Cynthia Renee, God's guiding light is directing her to pursue her lifelong passion of song writing and singing. While her legal career has brought her many accolades, it too has brought its share of tribulations and during such times it has been following her love of music that has helped Renee through the tough times. Now, she looks to help others with her first heart felt original "Where Are You Now."
"The concept of Where Are You Now came about at a time in my life where I was at a true crossroads and seeking guidance of which way to turn," said Renee. "While composing and recording the song has helped me through those emotionally challenging times I hope it will bring peace to others as they face their biggest adversities regardless of what the nature of that challenge may be."
Renee's new original "Where Are you Now" is available in various venues including Apple iTunes, Amazon.com, Zune Music, Xbox Live and more. As Where Are You Now was being released, tragedy struck areas of the East Coast with Hurricane Sandy which prompted Renee and Cynsinger Productions to become involved. As a result Cynthia wishes to donate through December 2012, net proceeds of '"Where Are you Now" and merchandise from her website to the Hurricane Relief Efforts.
Where Are You Now is the first of several original songs that will be on her album along with a select group of cover songs in the Christian and Country Genre. The song is currently being aired on internet radio and already receiving attention in all areas of the United States and around the world with listeners and fans as far away as Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, India, Australia Mexico, Canada and a unique following in areas of Israel, according to statistics from the internet based Jango Music Network.
Renee has plans in place for her songs to be released to Christian and crossover radio stations locally as well as the East Coast. The recent popularity of "Where Are You Now" is due to two simple facts. First of all, the song is speaks to the hearts of those around the world.. Secondly, its thanks to those who donate monetarily or in the form of professional assistance in an industry that is becoming more populated by independent artists like Renee. Such artists operate on private funding often supplemented by sponsors and donors and those who purchase single releases like "Where Are You Now" which will generate funds to further complete their projects.
"I am so grateful for a small group of special people that have come into my life at this time to help me. From people I knew many years ago and reconnected with to others thousands of miles away whom I have never met that are reaching out to help my songs be heard," said Renee. "It definitely confirms that God has a plan and that sharing my music with others is where I truly belong. I feel very blessed by it all."
