"HAIR is not a rock opera [a musical with only sung words and no traditional dialogue], but its book is very minimal," explains award-winning director Christopher Chase. "The main way the audience connects with the characters, outside of the songs and limited dialogue, is through movement and appearance."
It seems that theTRIBE Productions, the award-winning production house that brought HAIR to Hollywood this June, is making sure Bay Area audiences will have an experience unlike any other by improving their already well-reviewed production.
Continues Chase, "We are being incredibly detailed about the costuming and movements to make sure that the audience will understand (and appreciate!) each individual back story."
"The level of attention being paid is more than any other show we've done," states Tiffany Oliver, a founding member of theTRIBE and the upcoming production's "Chrissy." Each costume piece can be sourced to an actual photo from 1967 [when the show takes place]."
