Attorney Richard N. Blevins is the firm’s senior litigation attorney at Blevins & Hong, PC. Throughout his prestigious career, he has successfully handled hundreds of car accident and personal injury claims all throughout Marietta and Georgia’s various courts. As a former Cobb County Assistant District Attorney and as a former Assistant Solicitor General, he understands the Georgia court system from the inside out.
His professional career includes being a part-time criminal justice instructor at Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, Georgia, and he graduated third in his class at DeKalb County Police Academy where he achieved an intermediate certification from Georgia’s Peace Officer Standards & Training Council. Additionally, attorney Blevins formerly served as a detective with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, he was a former police officer with Milledgeville Police Department and with the DeKalb County Police Department. He is also a United States Army veteran where he was a soldier in the Military Police Corps stationed overseas.
Attorney Blevins graduated from U.S. Army Basic Military Police School in 1987 and he graduated from the U.S. Army NCO Academy in 1990. He graduated from the U.S. Army Military Police Investigator School in 1990 and he graduated from the DeKalb Police Academy in 1993. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia College & State University, and from there he went on to earn his Juris Doctor (law degree) from John Marshall Law School.
Richard N. Blevins is a member of all superior, state, magistrate, juvenile, probate and municipal courts in Georgia, as well as the following: United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States District Court – Northern District of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Prior to going into private practice in the metro Atlanta area, Blevins worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office for three years and he worked as an Assistant Solicitor General with the Cobb County Solicitor’s Office for one year.
Today, attorney Blevins represents those that have been injured in car accidents throughout Marietta, Georgia and the surrounding communities. Such accidents include truck accidents, motorcycle accidents and wrongful death cases. In addition to his legal training, he is also certified in National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement, he is a certified operator of the Intoxilyzer 5000, he is RADAR certified, and he is certified as a DARE officer.
