2012 Inlet Challenge Bicycle Ride
"I am passionate about Kids in Distress because children are so vulnerable and trusting and cannot protect themselves. They need our help providing a safe haven to ensure proper development, safety and security. The children are our future.” said Merrill Thomas when she was asked to comment on the upcoming event.
"Love begins with children, ours and others, no difference, no distinction. The wealth of kindness and honesty is within their souls. Believe in them." Brian Pearl was quoted as saying, whose Fort Lauderdale law firm; Thomas & Pearl also sponsors Merrill Thomas each year for the 62.5 mile charity ride, one of three courses to choose from by participants of the event.

The event is known as “The Inlet Challenge”
The Inlet Challenge is a cycling event that has an amazing route along A1A starting and ending at the Bahia Mar Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale. Considered by many ride enthusiasts to be among the best one day rides in South Florida, the Inlet Challenge offers riders the chance to choose from four distances: Century (100 miles), Metric Century (100 kilometers/62.5 miles), Half Metric Century (50 kilometers/31 miles), or Beach Cruiser (15 miles). The ride is well supported with fully stocked Rest Stops, SAG, and repair services so everyone has all the assistance they need to successfully complete the route. Riders challenge themselves and make new friends while supporting a deserving cause. After the ride, join us for a festive celebration with food, drinks and music! KID will host a special VIP Tent for our Top Fundraisers and Sponsors - any individual who raises $500+ will have access to the VIP area. All riders receive a t-shirt the day of the event. Complimentary parking is available at Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach for the first 450 cars.
The organization located in Wilton Manors shelters, educates, counsels and provides limited medical attention to abused infants and children.
