Ventura County Ballet Company joins holiday entertainment lineup at Ventura venue

Nov. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- (VENTURA, Calif.) – Ventura County’s premier ballet organization, the Ventura County Ballet Company (VCBC), will join a sensational lineup of local performances set to debut at the newly renovated Ventura College Performing Arts Center with its beloved production of the holiday classic “The Nutcracker”.

Headlining the memorable performance will be internationally-renowned guest artist, Sergey Kheylik, who will dance the role of the Nutcracker Prince. To his credit, Kheylik has danced onstage alongside music powerhouse artists Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and Lady Gaga; as well as performing with Cirque Du Soleil, the Los Angeles Ballet, Odyssey Dance Ballet Theater, South African Ballet Theater and Hong Kong Ballet. Also not to be missed is local and up-and-coming ballerina, 15-year-old Anna Miller, who will perform the role of the Snow Queen. This will be one of Miller’s last performances with the Ventura County Ballet Company as she has accepted an invitation to study at the Vaganova Academy in Moscow, Russia.

Kicking off on Wednesday, Nov. 28, until Sunday, Dec. 2, the community college will host an array of local entertainers to share the magic of the holidays. Audience’s hearts and spirits will be warmed with holiday-themed song and dance performances.

“We are so honored to have the opportunity to showcase the company’s talents at this beautiful, new facility,” said Kathleen Noblin, executive director of VCBC. “The stunning redesign of the Ventura College Performing Arts Center sets it apart from others in the county. I’m so glad this venue has been reintroduced to the community as I believe it will become an iconic location for Ventura County residents to celebrate the arts.”
