Nov. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Naples Harley-Davidson, a Scott Fischer Enterprises (SFE) store, has partnered with the non-profit Blessings in a Backpack to sponsor the first ever school in Collier County. In January, backpacks full of food for the weekends will be provided to children attending Golden Gate Elementary.

Naples Harley-Davidson has committed to sponsoring 50 children for Golden Gate Elementary, but the list of eligible students on free and reduced lunch programs is approximately 800. They are asking other Collier County local businesses and individuals to donate to this program and feed the remaining students.  Or if you want to adopt a school of your own, support is available.

Staff at the school will be running the program and coordinating volunteers while Naples Harley-Davidson will be holding various fundraising events to raise money for this three year commitment. Every penny raised goes to buying food for the children, as Blessings in a Backpack runs with 100% volunteer efforts. It’s just $80 to feed a child for an entire school year!

Naples Harley-Davidson owner, Scott Fischer, serves as the Chairperson for Scott Fischer Charities (SFC) and Blessings in a Backpack, Lee County. Launched in 2009, this will be the eighth school served in SWFL and the first in Collier County. The mission of the organization is to raise money to feed children in need and to raise their academic opportunity.

If you are interested or would like more information, please contact VP of Employee and Community Relations for SFE/SFC, Peri Bluemer, at (239) 690-4653 or via email at PeriB@harleyflorida.com.

Naples Harley-Davidson has committed to supporting Blessings in a Backpack as part of their involvement in Scott Fischer Charities. Scott Fischer Enterprises is the largest family of Harley-Davidson stores in the world.  Each of the SFE stores will be adopting a school in 2013 through Scott Fischer Charities as a commitment to giving back to the communities in which they do business.
