His story is told unpretentiously in plain terms that readers will long remember. He exposes his heart and mind as the reader is transported through the years as he recalls family memories and reveals the brutality of the prison wardens and inmates. It’s a heartfelt story of one man’s overcoming the monumental and many obstacles that stood in the way and for its inspiring testimony to durability and determination.

He takes the reader on a journey through times of intense love and devotion of his family, to the fierce and inhumane treatment he received from his fellowman.

Because this story is true, you find yourself feeling a sense of rage, frustration, fear and pain of heart that he felt as he describes the events he faced. It’s not a story one easily forgets.

It begins as he is placed in solitary confinement in the “hole”. A rat infested, cement cage. As he begins to spend the worst 72 days of his life, he begins to tell the story of what led him to that point. Beginning with some of the childhood memories growing up on a Texas farm, the story weaves through the years, holding the reader in suspense, until you feel the relief along with him, when it all comes to a conclusion.
