“Patelco has a long history of giving back. This is another great opportunity for us to make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Sharon Tallon, chairwoman of Patelco’s Community Development Committee. Underscoring the credit union’s commitment, Patelco President and CEO Ken Burns serves as co-chairman of the Credit Unions for Kids Advisory Board for the Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland, and he recently presented the hospital with a check for $27,800 on behalf of local Bay Area credit unions. Other charitable giving efforts that Patelco has led in 2012 include a donation drive for Career Closet in support of underprivileged women seeking to enter or re-enter the job force, a blood drive supporting the American Red Cross, and youth financial literacy programs.
