5TH ANNUAL DOMINICAN REPUBLIC GLOBAL FILM FESTIVAL TO BE HELD NOV. 14-21
NEW YORK CITY, NY (Nov. 5, 2012) – The 6th annual Dominican Republic Global Film Festival is to be held this year Nov. 14-21 in 17 different locations in the Dominican Republic in order to promote Dominican Republic as an ideal country to film in, and bring awareness to the global issues shown in the films presented. This non-profit event will include expert panels, short- film presentations, tributes, and contests.
44 political, dramatic, and international short films were chosen to be presented and part of a contest that includes a grand prize of an iMAC and an all-expense paid trip to a film festival of choice in Cuba, Colombia, or Mexico. The event’s panels include subjects of the difficulties of breaking into the film industry and even advice on how to create a short-film. Titles include “From the Page to the Screen”, “I’m in L.A., now what?” and “Journey of a Comedian”.
The film festival will hold tributes to the famous actors and actresses The Fast and the Furious leading actor Vin Diesel, Lethal Weapon’s Danny Glover, and María Montez, the Queen of Technicolor among other big names in Dominican and American film.
