E-MAGINE wins innovation award

Nov. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- The E-MAGINE technology, which reduces energy consumption in buildings by up to 35%, won The Innovation Award in the Uckfield Business Awards.

The E-MAGINE HVAC controls system was launched in 2011 by ENER-G Controls http://www.energ-group.com/ener-g-controls/ . Software R&D was undertaken by ENER-G's Uckfield team, which is dedicated to providing high quality, leading-edge energy generation and management solutions that are intelligent, yet simple to engineer, install and use. .

E-MAGINE is smart grid ready and can be used as a complete system to control energy performance across multiple sites, or in modular format, which makes it more affordable and flexible. The system can be fully customised and can integrate with all products and components in third party BEMS products and installations. It can control all types of heating, ventilation and  air conditioning (HVAC) in single buildings or across multiple sites.

A key component of E-MAGINE is its integrated front-end management tool, E-VISION, accessed through a standard internet browser. This cloud- based online dashboard serves the needs of designers and installers to design and commission the system. It also meets  the needs of users to not only control their building’s system remotely, but also analyse and manage their energy usage.

E-VISION has a number of E-APPs that function as automatic monitoring and targeting tools to monitor consumption across a range of sites. This also enables users to  drill down and monitor performance of plant, to highlight inefficiencies and opportunities to increase energy savings and generate reports. This also supplies easy access to data required for compliance with different types of energy legislation, and a comprehensive range of energy management tools designed to drive energy usage reductions in single buildings or an entire estate.

Historically building management systems have been installed by specialist contractors, with the skills to scope out the building, design the system and then fit it. However, using pre-programmed controls and advanced system configuration software, designing, installing and commissioning E-MAGINE is quick and simple to achieve.  This allows electrical and mechanical contractors, as well as specialist building services engineers, to work with ENER-G to install the new system, providing a bigger market opportunity for ENER-G Controls and lower operating costs due to quick and simple commissioning and installation.

Typical return on investment ranges from 12 to 60 months, but ENER-G can finance projects  to help organisations benefit from installing energy efficient technologies without the need for upfront capital.  

The system has been piloted in a range of buildings, achieving impressive savings, including the ENER-G group headquarters.  ENER-G Controls has already won impressive sales with a major UK hotel  group and provided commissions across many sectors - from retail to industry and luxury housing.
