Paul Joerger grew up on a diversified farm in Central Minnesota. The enterprises were forage crops, dairy, swine and sheep. Joerger graduated from North Dakota State at Fargo with a M.S. in Ag Economics in 1983. While working on his master’s degree, he managed 40,000 acres of farm land for First Trust Company of Fargo, North Dakota.
Upon graduating from college he was a Farm Business Management Consultant and Manager for Centrol of West Fargo. He then went into the academic world for eleven years by accepting a position with the University of Kentucky where he was an Area Extension Farm Business Analysis Specialist and instructor of two college classes. One of the courses was a Junior level farm management class and the other was a graduate level farm management course.
Joerger then entered the private sector and managed farms for Southern States Cooperative in Richmond VA. Joerger also worked with the Noble Foundation as instructor, consultant and a shared Directorship of the Agricultural Division before taking a position with Farmers National Company as an Area Vice President for the South Central Area.
Paul joined the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers in 1988 and earned his Accredited Farm Manager (AFM) designation in 1990. He has been a member and past chairman of the ASFMRA Management and Consulting Education Committee. He has served on the Accrediting and Program committees, been the Course Coordinator for many of the ASFMRA Farm Management Courses, served as an AFM exam proctor several times and continues to teach ALM courses and educational offerings at various chapters. He has been teaching ASFMRA offerings for the past 20 years.
He served as Director and Secretary/Treasurer of the Bluegrass Chapter in Kentucky. Paul also served as President in 2004-2005 of the Oklahoma Chapter. Paul is currently a member of the Kansas Chapter of ASFMRA. He is on the Board of the Kansas Agricultural and Rural Leadership which is a program devoted to developing agricultural leaders in Kansas. Paul is a Graduate of the Leadership Ardmore Program and the ASFMRA Dupont Leadership Institute. While in Kentucky he was selected to the Gamma Sigma Delta Honorary Fraternity (National Honor Society for Agriculture)

Dunlap, ARA; and Thomas G. Schorr, ARA. LeeAnn E. Moss, Ph.D., ARA serves as Academic Vice President.
