The author is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge and author of more than 550 scientific publications. All the above and more are reflected in these skilfully crafted and sometimes thought provoking poems.
This eighth collection of poems by Henry Disney is intended as an In Memoriam for his wife, Audrey, who died unexpectedly in 2012. The title is taken from Jean Holloway's great hymn - LORD, WE COME TO ASK YOUR HEALING, TEACH US OF LOVE.
Author Henry Disney says in usual poetic fashion:
“At times I've had a close exchange with death,
But soon escaped to live again.
I've met a rich array of men
And women drawn from diverse walks
Of life, both high and low. With some
I've clashed. With most I've relished each
As I've beheld the child behind
The mask. The only tale I'll tell
Is one of thanks for love for wife,
For children too, for theirs as well.”
