All of the races are of the pursuit variety meaning each boat or class of boats are given staggered start times based on their assigned handicap rating (RHKATI number), which in a perfect race would result in all boats finishing at around the same target time of 1630hrs.
INFINITI will be joined by SLAM, Veuve Clicquot and Sunsail as sponsors of The Lipton Trophy; with Sunsail to offer a 5-night boat charter in Malaysia, Thailand or Australia to the overall Top Dog Trophy series winner.
It will be a weekend “at sea” for INFINITI as this luxury automobile manufacturer is also a sponsor of the Tommy Bahama Around The Island Race the following day.
The Lipton Trophy will take place in the Eastern Harbour, and 10 classes (or types) of boats will be participating, together with IRC rated Big Boats. The first start is scheduled at 1400hrs and the last at 1500hrs. The one-design fleets racing are Pandora, Ruffian, Sonata, Flying Fifteen, Dragon, Impala, Etchells, J/80, Sportsboat and F18.
The Lipton Trophy presented by INFINITI prizegiving will be held at Kellett Island on Saturday. after racing.
Media representatives are invited to attend both the racing and the prizegiving afterwards. Please contact RHKYC’s PR & Communications Manager, Koko Mueller on koko.mueller@
