Food Grocery Giveaway for Those in Need
November 3, 2012 – Detroit, Michigan K.I.T.E., Inc. and C.L. Ministries are partnering with the Gleaners Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan this Thanksgiving to help families in our communities who are financially struggling and are not able to provide Thanksgiving meals for their family members.
In this time of great need, we will host a “Free Grocery Giveaway” on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Renaissance High School (Parking Lot) located at the 6565 West Outer Drive, Detroit, MI 48235. This event is from 10:00am to 12:00pm with registration starting at 10:00am. We ask that those who can, please help by donating food, money or their time. You can bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the “Free Grocery Giveaway” on the day of the event. This will ensure timely distribution to those in need in our community.

Word In Action Christian Center is a non-profit multicultural fellowship of diverse backgrounds that recognize the need to restore the gospel back to its original purpose of ushering in the power and presence of GOD. Konnecting the Incarcerated Through Excellence, Inc., otherwise known as K.I.T.E., is a is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides assistance and programs to underprivileged children who have an incarcerated parent and limited financial resources. All of the programs at K.I.T.E. are free and open to any child under the age of 18. Currently, the programs and services are only available in Detroit, Michigan and Atlanta, Georgia with plans to expand. K.I.T.E. also provides emergency financial assistance to children in need for items like school uniforms, transportation assistance, health assistance, books, food and nutrition and housing.
