Austin Prosthodontics Revitalizes Texas Smiles with Dentures Thanks to Dr. Ernesto Carmona Jr.

Dentures are wonderful resource that Austin Prosthodontics uses to give patients a new, comfortable and fully restored smile that they can rely upon for years.  A substitute for your own teeth, dentures (http://www.austinprostheticdental.com/dentures/) enable you to smile, eat, speak and protect your oral health at any age. Dr. Ernesto Carmona Jr. has fit many Austin patients with both full dentures and partial dentures, giving them greater confidence and peace of mind as they preserve their health and take security in their new smile.

Since every person is different, there are multiple denture options offered at Austin Prosthodontics. Patients can be fitted with conventional full dentures, immediate full dentures or partial dentures. Each of these prosthetics solve a unique set of issues but all of them are specifically designed to achieve the same end result of making your smile look and feel complete.

As the name would suggest, conventional dentures are the most familiar of full oral prosthetics. These dentures cover both the top and bottom gums, are removable and are custom fabricated to suit your needs and attributes. When receiving conventional full dentures, Dr. Carmona extracts the patient’s teeth and allows for a healing period of several months. While diet, oral care and other day-to-day activities will need to be modified during this time, this is one of the best methods for being fit with a suitably shaped and sized set of dentures from the start.  Because your fully healed gums will serve as the base for your custom created dentures, there’s often less need for adjustment and modification later on.

Many Austin Prosthodontics patients choose immediate full dentures. This course of action is more appealing to some, because the patient has a full set of teeth throughout the healing process. Dr. Carmona measures the patient’s mouth before the teeth are removed. This allows him the time to craft a set of dentures to be placed immediately after the teeth are extracted. However, this option requires a bit more upkeep. As the patient heels, their jawbone will change. As a result, the dentures will need to be adjusted and tightened at a later time.

Partial dentures are an optimal choice for those patients who do not require all of their teeth be removed. While a partial denture is similar to a bridge, it is not a permanent fixture in the patient’s mouth.  Partial dentures are held in place by metal framework, and will require removal for proper cleaning and any necessary adjustments.  They are best suited for patients who need prosthetics for their back teeth, where they fit comfortably and are least conspicuous.

Dr. Ernesto Carmona Jr. and the rest of the staff at Austin Prosthodontics believe that everyone deserves a full, happy smile. He invites Austin, Texas folks to rely upon his prosthodontics practice for advanced prosthetics and complete oral care services.
