Spiral Health Team outside the Rehabilitation Unit in Bispham Blackpool
The unit which spun out from the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in April and has only been established as a *social enterprise for six months has notched up this exceptional achievement putting them in the top four per cent of businesses in the country
Announcing the achievement, Roger Bradshaw, Investors in People specialist, said: “Spiral health only started up as a business in April, but they have really sound principals and an effective approach. They are doing everything they can to involve all the people in the business.”
“This is the first social enterprise organisation that I am aware of that has achieved Investors in People recognition at that level within the first 12 months of business,” he added. “Of the 35-40,000 organisations nationally who have gained Investors in People, there have only been 4 per cent who have achieved bronze level.”
“A lot of organisations have been a long time in trading before achieving Investors in People. To get it within six months is superb. They’ve met the standard and more.”
Spiral Health Managing Director, Tracey Bush was delighted at the accolade. “We were nervous it was too soon to be assessed for this recognition, but I had great faith in the business and its staff. Lots of people were involved in our getting Investors in People accreditation and I would like to thank everyone. I am really proud of all of us,” she said.
Staff and volunteers at the unit also shared in the honour as the Investors in People plaque was unveiled at the unit on Ryscar Way
“It’s made me very proud to work here, it’s a great place to work,” said physiotherapist Claire Palmer. “I was involved in the group working towards accreditation. My role was liaising with the rest of the staff about what Investors in People was all about and how we were going to be assessed……….staff are really friendly, you get time to spend with the patients and get to know them on a personal level.”
