Reassure24 is an online service whereby clients can set up simple daily reassurance and reminder calls to their home to make sure they or their relatives are feeling well. Every day they will receive a personalised call from Dr Hilary Jones. ReAssure24 can also be used to create reminders for medication or other important events and relatives can even pre-record their own voice for the messages so that users can feel at ease.
By pressing 1 on their telephone keypad when the call arrives, they inform Reassure24 that they are fine and don’t require any help. If customers do need assistance, they can do so by pressing 0 on their keypad. This will prompt an alert being sent by email and text to any registered contact. For users of the ReAssure24’s sister service, Telecare24, the user will be transferred to its 24/7 call centre, where a highly trained Operator will be on hand to provide any assistance required.
Dr Hilary Jones who launched the service today said, “We all lead really busy lives and unless our parents live with us it’s impossible to make sure everything is fine all the time.” He added, “With the increase in people suffering from Alzheimer’s, or any kind of cognitive decline where there may be a degree of forgetfulness, disorientation or confusion this is a great low cost way to remind people to take important medication or to make sure they eat or drink regularly.”
Neil Evans, Director of Telecare24 said, “We are very proud to be launching ReAssure24 today as it makes us the first National Telecare provider to offer both a reactive and proactive careline service. With the ReAssure24 available to all UK residents for just £1 a week now means that Telecare provision has become accessible to all.
