The CD demonstrates Hooker's proficiency at writing and performing in a variety of styles that include the blues, a little funk, some soul, and even a few jazz-inspired moments. The soulful Betty Wright joins Hooker on the sinuous ballad, "I Surrender." ALL HOOKED UP also features music luminaries such as the legendary guitarist Lucky Peterson, harmonica master Dave Barrette, D’Wayne Wiggins of Tony, Toni, Tone, Eddie Minnifield, sax player for Shieila E and Prince, also outstanding vocalists Jeanie Tracy and Sakai are but a few of the extraordinary talents that went into the making of ALL HOOKED UP!  This is two time Grammy Nominee John Lee Hooker, Jr.’s 5th and arguably best CD Release to date.

The title track is a funky recounting of Hooker's life as the son of one of the great blues giants. It's a bit ironic: the fame of his father's blues life helps bring him down, the music offers new salvation. And that's just about right for the blues.

There’s one very cool bonus, All Hooked Up features a special DVD from Paris based Callicore Productions. Callicore has defined the art of animation with “DEAR JOHN" – the masterfully created Bonus DVD included with ALL HOOKED UP. The Callicore created animated film noir video for Hooker’s song, “Dear John.” It’s the story of a gent tossed into jail reading a “Dear John” letter that would give anyone the blues if they didn’t already have them before the arrest.

In 2010, between sharing the stage with artists such as, Lenny Kravitz, Taj Mahal, and ZZ Top, Hooker Jr. was the musical face of America's prestigious, U.S. Open (CBS).
