Nov. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Theresa M. Moore, owner and CEO of Antellus, a private independent publishing company, was approached by Kindle Direct Publishing in a series of email messages denying her rights to the content, which she wrote in 1992. The stort story was published on KDP for dissemination to Amazon, and is also published with several other internet sellers. The content pirate, who had claimed the rights illegally via a complaint form filed with KDP, has been identified as one Jonathan Suarez, and was reported to the FBI's Internet Crime division for eliciting royalties from the author via extortion, which was aided and abetted by KDP by means of its arbitrary and final conclusion regarding the author's rights to her own content. This shakedown attempt will be met with vigorous action.

"You cannot imagine the anger and shock with which I received this news," Moore said. "I was already debating removing my ebooks from KDP for a consistent lack of sales over the last nine months, when this occurred. Not only were my rights stripped from me for a work I wrote, I was made to be the culprit in this situation. I expect to be allowed to exit KDP permanently, and restitution of my rights to the content to be immediate. KDP is clearly in violation of the legal contract I entered into with it. Not only that, I will expect Jonathan Suarez to be arrested and tried for extortion. If I find that KDP is complicit in any other way, I will seek financial and punitive damages for the humiliation and emotional distress both Amazon and KDP have dealt me."

Moore is the author of 16 books, two of which are out of print, and several short stories and essays.
