Americans Dominate Play at 2012 Atlanta ITF Presented by Life Time Athletic & Tennis

US Players manage to create an amazing All-American Quarter-Final at the 2012 Atlanta ITF.
 
Nov. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- (Atlanta, GA)— The 2012 Atlanta ITF is filled with excitement, disappointment, determination and intensity.   The best players in the world have descended on Atlanta, GA with hopes of making it into the finals of the coveted 2012 Atlanta ITF.   The US boys and girls have succeeded in creating amazing All-American quarter-finals on both sides.  In the boys draw:  Lin Carter (2) will go up against qualifier Nathan Ponwith; Drew Halbauer (4) is playing Paul Oosterbaan; Javier Restrepo (7) is challenging William Blumberg and Tommy Paul (9) is facing Daniel Shebshayevich.  

In the ladies draw:  Maddie Pothoff (6) is facing Sydney Campbell; Mariana Gould (9) plays Kourtney Keegan; Wild Card Andie Daniell defeated Lauren Proctor (10) to face Bennett Dunn; while Maegan Manasse (15) will round it out by playing Katerina Stewart.

Although, #1 seed Jordi Arconada (ARG) lost to Wild Card Thomas Mayronne (USA) in the first round of the boys singles,  Arconada and partner Alp Horoz of Turkey pulled out a round of 16 win to move into the quarter finals.   Arconada/Mayroone are facing Americans Jake Devine & Nathan Ponwith.  Devine & Ponwith defeated the #5 doubles team of Tommy Paul & Aron Pierce to move into the quarters.  The third seeded team of Alfonzo Paredes (VEN) & American Javier Restrepo will play Justin Byrd and Shane Monroe of the US.  Byrd and Monroe toppled #6 Americans Jack Murray and Paul Oosterbaan in three sets.  The US’s Chase Colton and Robert Levine are taking on #4 Lamar Remy (USA) and Alejandro Tabilo (CAN).  Canadians Penfield Binet and Phillippe Courteau will go up against Basil Khuma (IND) and Anudeep Kodali (USA).
In girls doubles play the Americans Mary Closs and Maegan Manasse defeated the #1 seeded team of Tyler Smith (BER) and Jeung Won Yang (KOR).  Closs/Manasse will meet #7 seeded Americans Sofia Kenin and Maddie Pothoff.   Sofie Chang (USA) and Meghan Kelley (USA) will play the #6  American duo:  Sydney Campbell and Mariana Gould.  Americans Alexa Bortles and Megen Cochran defeated #8 Jessica Golovin and Ndindi Ndunda to face the #3 international team of Katerina Chasovskikh (RUS) and Mingxiu Du (CHN).  Cassie Mercer and Rebecca Weissman will challenge Olivia Hauger and Maia Magill; all are from the US.
