The Grace Place Collecting Supplies for Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Local church gathering items for immediate distribution to families in shelters in New Jersey

PRLog - Nov. 1, 2012 - STUART, FL – Nov. 1, 2012 – The Grace Place Church (http://www.thegraceplace.com/) is opening it’s doors to anyone desiring to provide help and support for families affected by Hurricane Sandy.  Donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, and other needed items are now being accepted at the worship center at 1550 SE Salerno Road in Stuart.  A full list of hurricane relief supplies can be found below.

Many members of this community have family and friends in the affected areas of New York and New Jersey.  The Grace Place is already moving to put the prayers and well wishes of this community into action.

“We believe that we need to do more than just express our concern for people affected by the storm,” says Senior Pastor, Rick Addison. “We need to demonstrate our compassion and concern in specific and tangible ways.  What good do we really do when we tell someone in need of food or clothing, ‘I hope you find what you need?’ Our hearts should be so moved that we take the shirt off of our back and the food off our own plate to help someone in need.  That’s why we are putting together this effort to send a truck load of supplies to a church centered in the affected area.”

A truck has been rented for transport of all of the donated items to Shore Fellowship (http://shorefellowship.net/) in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.  As soon as the truck is full, it will be sent to families in need.  Monetary donations to offset travel expenses and support the work of Shore Fellowship will also be accepted.  All donations will be need to be delivered between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM starting Friday Nov. 2nd.  Also, on Sunday Nov. 4 the Florida Blood Center Bloodmobile will be at the Grace Place to help anyone interested in donating blood for Hurricane Sandy Relief.

Please, for health and safety reasons, bring only new, still in the package, items.
