The workshops start on November 1, 2012, and continue for a period of four weeks in total. Over the course of the weeks, two-hour group sessions will be available free of charge to registered participants. The workshops are held at the MAPLESOFT Cancer Survivorship Centre, 1500 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa.
A cancer diagnosis will usually change a patient's life dramatically. Some of the most common emotions associated with a cancer diagnosis include depression, guilt, fear, anxiety and sadness. Karinna Najera, from Focus on Change Hypnotherapy believes that by using self hypnosis patient's will be able to better understand what is happening in their mind and body.
The Clinical Hypnosis Program offered at the Maplesoft Center, is designed to help clients with the emotional side of dealing with cancer, as well as learning to use imagery for health. Clients learn to empower themselves by learning and practicing Mind-Body Techniques.
Karinna Najera, Clinical Hypnotherapist and owner at Focus on Hypnotherapy explains that “the purpose of self hypnosis is to strengthen the connection between mind and body.Clients will learn to use imagery to promote health, wellness and balance.”
The workshops are held every Thursday between 9.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. Participants are required to register for the four week self hypnosis program in person at the Maplesoft Center or on line at http://www.ottawacancer.ca
