CommonWealth One was one of many businesses that sponsored the event with a booth and is proud to be an annual sponsor. Several of the credit union’s employees also participated in the walk. Participants got to choose between 1.5K, 3.5K, or 5K in distance in which they could walk or run. One of CommonWealth One’s employees placed third in the race.
The walk was started in 1994 to raise funds to give free mammograms to women in Alexandria who cannot afford them due to low wages or inadequate insurance coverage. Since its inception, donors have raised enough money to provide over 7,000 mammograms to Alexandria women.
