SNOMED CT browser gets a new look, new features and the latest IHTSDO dataset.

Oct. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- This month Dataline Software launches a new version of Snoflake, the innovative and free online SNOMED CT browser. The online application (www.snoflake.co.uk) is designed to help professional healthcare workers and researchers; find, organise and research SNOMED CT concepts, online and from anywhere. The new version brings a raft of new features, a faster, more intuitive user interface and the latest SNOMED CT dataset from the IHTSDO.

SNOMED brings increased accuracy and recording speed to healthcare systems within the UK health sector. Following the successful introduction of the UK Extensions into Snoflake in 2011 and further consultation with users in 2012, Dataline is launching version 4.0 of the website this month. This new version is a complete rebuild, to take advantage of new technologies and features now available:

● Improved User Interface, easier to use and understand.
● An ICD10 searching mode enables you to use Snoflake as an ICD10 tool.
● Faster, more accurate search algorithm, using prefix or whole word matching.
● New search mode which will match concepts containing some or all the words
supplied.
● Improved Snippet matching mode; will match concepts more accurately from the
words specified.
● New favourite management tools that are multi-select, quicker and easier to use.

Alongside Snoflake, Dataline is releasing a new version of SnAPI - an application programming interface for SNOMED CT. This allows organisations and application developers the opportunity to deploy SNOMED CT lookups in their own applications simply and with minimal SNOMED CT knowledge.
