Artists showcase talent in support of Breast Cancer Awareness

Nov. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Talented artsists from Baton Rouge and its surrounding areas gathered on Saturday, October 27, 2012 to sketch, draw, and paint one of a kind pieces and auctioned them off to the public in support of breast cancer awareness. The event was held at 600 Main Street Baton Rouge, LA 70801.  Paint for the Cure raised $2,000 which was donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation-Baton Rouge on behalf of Key Rouge Agency.  

This is the first year Key Rouge has officially supported the Komen Foundation. "We came up with the fundraising concept and organized the event in less than two months.  I am more than satisfied with the outcome of Paint for the Cure and am happy to annouce that we will continue our work with the Susan G. Komen Foundation at their annual Race for the Cure in early March 2013," states Gabrielle Deculus, co-owner of Key Rouge.  

Artists, musicians, models, and local mobile eateries took part in the event as well as patrons from the Baton Rouge community.  Along with raising funds, the event was an opportunity to raise awareness and the importance of research as well as educating the public about breast cancer.
