It seems the hard work is paying off as not only did September bring an award win but it also delivered Mercers’ best sales figures in seven years. Buyers are coming from various countries, Belgium to Sweden, Spain to Holland, and a strengthening of interest from the UK which is reassuring. Very few buyers are pure investors, most are looking for personal use maybe with an eye on wintering or retiring in the region in the future.
Chris continues, “Like the rest of Spain we have been affected by the “crash” however house hunters are homing in on Murcia for a number of reasons. Prices are very attractive, most are buying within the 50,000 to 150,000 euro price bracket, and even at the bottom end of that range you can still get two bedrooms on a golf course. Meanwhile the all-new Corvera Airport will be fully operational by Easter week 2013 and the Paramount-licensed theme park has pledged to open its doors in 2015 – this all helps to explain our trend-bucking surge in sales. We’re also lucky enough to have a loyal and skilled sales force, a strong online presence and we do plenty of marketing regardless of the economic climate.”
To cap a fantastic month, Mercers has just taken the keys to a new office premises within the Camposol Golf resort. A few metres from their old HQ, the new office was until recently occupied by a Spanish high street bank and has the advantage of a corner position with no less than five window displays. Mercers has been based in Camposol Golf since 1998 and steadily raised its public profile on the development over the years.
