Steelers’ Star Will Allen “Quest for Real Life Success” Program Host Mock Elections

After-School program to host student mock presidential elections in conjunction with "My Voice" National Student Mock Election
 
Oct. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Huber Heights, Ohio (October 30, 2012) – With the presidential elections quickly approaching, Wayne High School alum and current NFL Pittsburgh Steeler, Will Allen, hosts an after school program called Quest for Real Life Success. Quest will be implementing and hosting mock elections at Wayne High School on Wednesday, October 31 for the 2012 Presidential Elections, as part of the “My Voice” National Student Mock Election sponsored by the Pearson Foundation.  

On Wednesday, students will have the opportunity to vote from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. via paper ballot either during their Social Studies Department class or during all lunch periods. The winner of the Presidential election predicted by Wayne students will be announced the following day.

“I am glad that my Quest students have found something that they are passionate about and are completely running it,” said Allen. “I know these students have worked very hard on this project and I am excited to see all their hard work pay off.”

Quest for Real Life Success is an after school program that meets every Tuesday from 3:30-4:30pm. Quest was established to assist students in preparation for their future by assisting them to be proactive in the areas of academic preparation, financial education, business, personal health, technology/sciences, community awareness and earth preservation.  Although currently in Pittsburgh, Will Allen, founder of the program, Skype's directly with the school to talk to the students about the weekly topic. For instance, speakers, such as the schools guidance counselors have spoken to the children about college preparation.

Allen created the Will Allen Foundation in 2008 as a means of giving back to his hometown of Dayton, Ohio and his NFL hometowns of Tampa and Pittsburgh.
