Former Foster Youth Bring the Laughs for “Squeaky Clean Saturdays" at Ontario Improv Comedy Club

Event to Benefit Aspiranet Programs for Youth Transitioning Out of Foster Care
 
Oct. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- (SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.) –  Comedy lovers will be in for an afternoon full of laughs as former foster youth from one of California’s leading social services agencies, Aspiranet (http://www.aspiranet.org/), will take to the mic alongside professional comics at the Ontario Improv Comedy Club (http://ontario.improv.com/) on Saturday, Nov. 10, to deliver an arsenal of jokes for its “Squeaky Clean Saturdays” event.

Kicking off at 2 p.m., patrons will be in for an hour and a half of knee-slapping good times at the stand-up show which will feature a lineup of talented local and national comedians, including Eric Blake who has been featured on such networks as Comedy Central, HBO, NBC and BET. “Squeaky Clean Saturdays” will highlight clean comedy at its best providing a blend of energy, fun and variety.

Former foster youth who have been mentored by Blake in a “Transitions Through Comedy” class will also perform their own set at the high energy affair. The roster of former foster youth that will take the stage will include: Shomantia Scott, Michele Rogers, Patrick Rush and Francisco Gonzales.

Admission to the event will cost $10 per person for patrons ages 18 and over. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Aspiranet’s THP and Aftercare programs that help foster youth with the transition into adulthood.
