-- ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading energy consulting firms, recently sponsored the fourth annual Transmission Summit West held October 22–24, 2012. This event brought together leaders from across the utility industry to discuss key trends and recent policy decisions that continue to have a profound influence on our nation’s electric transmission grid.
This event provided the opportunity for utilities, merchant transmission companies, regulators, and others involved in transmission build out to share their experiences and collaborate on ideas for enhancing and expanding the electric grid.
Cristin Lyons (http://www.scottmadden.com/

This presentation focused on how natural gas prices, carbon legislation, and renewable generation sources will drive the need for transmission infrastructure investment. “The future of our generation mix will have a significant impact on the need for transmission infrastructure, and developers need to factor these trends into long-term plans,” notes Mr. Williams.
